ENGS 32 Analog Circuits

Hamster Elevator

Wired an analog circuit to digitial logic and capacitance sensor (capacitor-based sensor that changed voltage output if something was on it–we used a stack of 5 large washers to simulate a hamster), and a motor to control the elevation and lowering of the elevator platform. Analog circuitry was set up to maintain constant and reliable power delivery to the digital components as well as the motor under load/no load. Key challenges: maintain constant speed on the elevating platform with or without load; design analog circuitry for power delivery; design digital circuitry (read datasheets, map pins, etc) to send reliable low voltage signals to power delivery module
